Intermountain Industries, Inc. ("Industries") is
a closely-held, holding company, incorporated in 1977 as a
result of a reorganization of Intermountain Gas Company. In 1984, in response to an
unsolicited tender offer, a group of investors made a successful
competing offer and took the Company private. Therefore, there
is no public market for shares of Industries or any of its
subsidiaries. Industries serves as the parent company for all of
its significant operating companies: Intermountain Gas Company,
III Exploration Company, Petroglyph Energy, Inc. and InterWest
Capital, Inc.
Industries, through its subsidiary, Intermountain Gas Company,
is the sole distributor of natural gas in southern Idaho.
Intermountain Gas was incorporated in 1950 and began operations
in 1956.
Industries is engaged in the production of natural gas and oil
deposits through its subsidiaries, III Exploration Company and
Petroglyph Energy, Inc.
Industries is the parent company of InterWest Capital, Inc., its
investment arm. InterWest Capital and DTech Investment L.L.C an
affiliate have made a commitment in the
area of electronic micro displays through investment in
Displaytech, Inc., a leader in development and manufacturing of
ferroelectric liquid crystals on silicon or FLCOS technology. |
